ADI multi-channel wireless remote control transmitter without an external microcontroller

In Electronic Infomation Category: R | on November   1, 2010

ADI has introduced a high performance low-cost multi-channel transmitter - ADF7901. The device for remote control and ADS7825U datasheet and wireless toys and ADS7825U price and other consumer electronics products provide the low current consumption.

ADF7901 is a low power OOK / FSK UHF transmitter designed for use in RF remote control. This single-chip IC in the 384MHz transmitter output power +12 dBm, while consuming the current of only 26mA. It uses the fractional-N type PLL (fractional-N PLL) and ADS7825U suppliers and fully integrated VCO, transmitter frequency from 369.5 ~ 395.9MHz. The device in eight different channels (selected by three external control lines) also has a frequency modulation (FSK), does not require an external microcontroller.

OOK modulation can be used in the ADF7901 PA control line to achieve. On-chip VCO output frequency work in the 2X, so the output of VCO 2 frequency feedthrough PA reduced the number of connections. It is more easy access to the OOK modulation depth greater than 50dB. FSK_ADJ and ASK_ADJ resistance can be adjusted in the system, each modulation scheme to get the best output power. For the low frequency channel, the device can provide additional 1.5dB output power to adjust the antenna performance. CE line allows the transmitter to full power-down. In this mode, the leakage current is only 0.1μA.

ADF7901 is a 24-pin TSSOP package. Now available. 1,000-piece order, priced at $ 1.89 (for reference).
