Silicon Labs announced the first single-chip power controller

Silicon Laboratories Inc. today Developers Conference in the portable power supply (PPDC) to display its first applications designed specifically for power control of the Si825x series of single-chip power controller. Structure of this family of devices based on the patent, the flexibility and FDS6986S datasheet and programmability of DSP-based hardware controller combines rapid response, which for most isolated and FDS6986S price and non-isolated switching power supply topology provides digital power control and FDS6986S suppliers and power management features, suitable for telecom and data communications systems, computers, servers, industrial and medical equipment applications.

Si825x loop control structure will be used for high-speed real-time processing hardware and a FLASH-based system management controller together. High-bandwidth control loop updates the speed of 10MHz, and includes a dedicated analog-to-digital converter (ADC), programmable DSP filter engine, six-channel DPWM and programmable over-current protection (OCP) hardware detector. System management controller performs fault detection and recovery, control loop optimization, such as dynamic loop compensation and dead-time adjustment, PMBus communication and external device management. System management controller is based on a 32K FLASH the 50MIPS 8051 CPU, and combines the self-sorting of 12 ADC, SMBus PMBus interface port, UART, 16-bit timers and additional PWM channels. Si825x specified in -40 ℃ to 125 ℃ range of operation.

Silicon Laboratories to Si825x by a set of intuitive tools to support such tools follow the users existing analog design, digital control design to minimize the learning curve. This kit includes a real-time firmware kernel (C language source code), loop compensation and timing simulator / designer tools, system controller, configuration wizards and Silicon Laboratories Integrated Development Environment (IDE). Si825x development kit also includes a USB debug adapter and a full half-bridge Si825x based on the DC / DC converters. The kit also includes a complete PMBus interface protocol and external host interface hardware.

Si825x with 5 × 5mm 28-pin flat no-lead (QFN) package or a 32-pin low profile flat package (LQFP). Si825x series starts at 1,000-unit quantities, $ 2.49 per tablet (for reference). Si825x is currently in the sampling phase, is expected to supply the third quarter of 2005.
